Giving thanks for BGAN and Pidgin

Phil Harms and I, Ken Haugh, had an opportunity to visit the Mgbolizhia language project and meet John and Ike, two of the translators. I believe I can speak for both Phil and I when I say that we both left truly impressed with these two individuals. Both are so eager and willing to receive and learn more about this new BGAN* technology. And, unlike many interested in learning about technology for technology’s sake, these two Godly men are interested because it will increase the pace of the translation. Getting God’s Word into their language is what is first and foremost.

Both praise God for the provision of the BGAN satellite and the Pidgin chat program, enabling the translators to chat with others around the world asking for clarification, help, or whatever necessary.

Here are links to videos taken during the BGAN satellite installation and training process.

We thank God for servants like this!

Hello world!

Welcome to your new area on The Nigerian Bible Site. This is your first post. Log in and delete this, then start adding news about your translation project! If you don’t know how to log in email info@ngbible.com

Please write mostly in your language with perhaps a summary in English or Hausa, as appropriate. You should submit your trial editions of scripture as Pages, rather than Posts. They are similar but Pages are for things that you always want to have available; posts are good for news items that will gradually go out of date.

You can upload PDFs, MP3 audio recordings or RTF/Word documents. Send your Paratext backup to info@ngbible.com and tell us what book(s) you want us to publish and we can convert it to a beautiful format for your site.
